This webinar will discuss Fluent dynamic mesh, constrained 6-Degrees of Freedom (DOF) solver and contact detection in the context of a pump example.
Dynamic mesh allows for moving parts and includes mesh deformation and remeshing. Mesh layering will be used for the piston motion.
The 6-DOF solver tracks part motion as the result of fluid forces. The motion can be constrained to a single direction and include spring forces as well as motion limits. This will be used for the check valves on the pump.
Contact detection allows cells within a contact distance to be moved to a different fluid zone. Specifically, cells in the contact region of the check valve will be moved to a porous zone with high flow resistance to shut-off of the flow.
